Graduation Day

Bidding Adieu to the Alma Mater...

It was an evening that would be cherished for a long time to come. On Saturday, the 14th of February, Grade12 students of National Public School, Koramangala , stepped out of the portals of their alma mater and strode into the future, confident and set to leave a mark in the sands of time.

For the students, bidding adieu to their temple of learning was indeed a solemn occasion. In his enriching convocation address, Chief Guest Mr. T.R Raghunandan, Former Joint Secretary Government of India, reminded the students that they are fortunate to live in these times and urged them to pursue the road less taken and not to conform to set norms. The graduating batch, in their resplendent best, sat in rapt attention as they were implored to be feminists and blur any kind of gender discrimination, to polish skills which one is not good at and most importantly to remain connected with their parents at all times. Dr. K.P Gopalakrishna, Chairman NPS group of schools persuaded the students to consider teaching as a career option, pointing out the need to fill up the lacuna of competent teachers in our society. Director Dr. Bindu Hari in her welcome address reminded the students to cherish with gratitude each of the mile stones they have crossed so far in their lives and to make friends irrespective of age barriers. She asked them to value the lessons they learnt through their school years and to be responsible citizens.

The poignant candle lighting ceremony followed by the resounding school song was symbolic of their promise to be beacons of light to the world they are stepping into.
