It was a wonderful afternoon spent in musical harmony on 3rd March, for the primary students of NPS Koramangala. The Saralaya sisters Mrs. Kavitha and Mrs.Triveni alongwith mridangam artiste Mr.Srikanth and violinist Mr.Nagaraj enthralled the young audience with carnatic music.
With a brief introduction to the instruments used and the basic notes of music, the concert got off to a melodiously sweet start. Beginning with a Varnam set to Adi tala, the garland of songs included a song on Lord Ganesha, a Purandaradasa composition and ended with the rendition of Maithreem Bhajatha. Each piece was delivered to perfection with the instruments adding flavour to it.
Listening in spellbound silence, the students soaked in every note of the songs rendered. Truly, every Friday afternoon ought to end on such a musical note. It was a Friday to remember for the primary students – a cultural treat to hum through the week!
