Khoj Grades 3, 4, 5 - 2023-2024


KHOJ- An exhibition of learning, was held on the 9th of December 2023 showcasing learning of Grades 3, 4 and 5 students.

Grade 3 students enthusiastically presented their projects on the topic ‘Birds’. The classrooms had a festive atmosphere with colourful displays and informative charts based on bird sanctuaries and state birds of India. 3D models of parts of a bird’s body and flight mechanisms demonstrated their understanding of the aerodynamics and the different parts of the bird’s body which enable birds to fly.

Mathematical skills were displayed by designing fraction and tangram puzzles with bird-themed shapes. The visitors were engaged in various interactive activities in Hindi and Kannada. Students also creatively displayed their knowledge of English Idioms and collective nouns related to birds showing their language skills.

‘CHROMA’ was the theme chosen by students of Grade 4. Their exhibits explored the cultural diversity of India through the lens of different colours.

The students demonstrated their understanding of the science of chromatography, colours in soils, and rocks, as well as primary, secondary and tertiary colours through colour-mixing experiments. They used colours to explain various mathematical concepts like 3D shapes, decimals, fractions etc. The skits presented in Hindi, Kannada and English beautifully intertwined characters from the textbooks into captivating stories, highlighting the significance of colours.

Grade 5 students delved into the intriguing theme of ‘Travel’. Their Social studies and Science exhibits revealed the past, present and future of travel, encompassing various working models of the Maglev train and the science behind submarine, hyperloop and space travel to mention a few. Their proficiency in Math was displayed through topics of speed, distance, time, temperature and currency conversion. The skits and games in different languages - Hindi and Kannada highlighted the importance of travel to increase knowledge. The English skit was an amalgamation of shadow play, mime and songs based on stories from their textbooks, and stressed on the dire need for empathy towards animals and nature in the present scenario existing in the world.

The exhibition was a grand success thanks to the dedicated efforts of the students and teachers. It provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and skills while fostering a sense of confidence and pride in their achievements.
