Senior School

The primary focus of NPS is academic excellence. Yet, there is never a compromise in ensuring the development of creative, social and emotional facets of every student. To achieve this end, the senior school learning programme incorporates a variety of activities such as inter-house competitions, visits to orphanages and old age homes, guest lectures on various health and environmental issues, career counselling, overseas opportunities, etc. This gives them the much-needed exposure to the real world outside.

At NPS, Koramangala, extreme care is taken to ensure an integrated development of the child's personality. One way of achieving this is to provide opportunity to every child to develop his/her talent. Once a week, each class presents the school assembly. The assemblies are theme-based. Apart from helping students overcome their stage fear, they also help all students to be aware of current national and international events and carry home inspiring messages.

We rock the world!!

In order to develop the latent talents of our students and to nurture their interests and aptitudes, we have various clubs and inter-house activities in various fields such as literary, performing arts, Quiz etc. These activities help to promote team-spirit and healthy competition among our students.

What’s the answer???

We organize talks on various issues regarding health and hygiene and other general matters of concern to develop awareness in our students. Students are taken on trips to visit the under-privileged, such as S.O.S. Children's Village and Old Age Homes

In order to develop values such as dignity of labour and environmental awareness, students are encouraged to take responsibility for classroom maintenance. Senior students undertake SUPW activities such as pot painting, tie and dye and the like.

One of the objectives of NPS is to provide extended learning opportunities to our students. To facilitate this, we have eminent personalities from various fields addressing our students from time to time.

great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi

Prof. Alan Macdairmid, co- winner of
Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2000

Dr. Renuka Ravindran,
Dean of Science, Indian Institute of Science

One of the activities eagerly looked forward to by all students is the field trip. Students are taken to different places of scientific, historical and general interest. Apart from providing information on specific topics, these trips help in building teacher-student rapport in an informal out-of class atmosphere and also develop interpersonal skills.

NPS believes that the world today is indeed a global village and our children form a part of global citizenry. A natural concomitant of this belief would be to expose our students to the various cultures and civilizations of the world. With this idea and objective in mind, we organize international tours for our students. In our maiden international venture in April, 2006 a team of 15 students and two teachers visited Paris, Versailles and Lyon cities. The recent trip in April, 2008 had 35 students and 3 teachers visiting the fashion world of Paris and the snowcapped peaks in the Swiss Alps.

We, at National Public School, Koramangala, take a proactive role in ensuring that our students make wise career choices. To enable them to achieve this, we invite professionals from various walks of life who explain to our senior students the nuances of their profession - the institutions and courses that lead to these careers, the opportunities and challenges involved and so on. Our students find these interactive sessions extremely useful.

Every year, we have educators from leading international universities such as National Technological University, Singapore and National University of Singapore visiting our school and enlightening our students on the various educational and employment opportunities available.
