stArt - 2024

Ordinary moments were transformed into extraordinary memories through the strokes of a brush and the aroma of freshly baked delights. National Public School, Koramangala celebrated the fusion of art and flavours at its Annual Art Competition- StArt, along with a Bake Sale by the students of Grades 7 &8, on 2nd March 2024.

stArt, is an initiative that was conceived and planned by the students of Grade 11 of NPS- Koramangala way back in 2017-18 to raise funds for Karunashraya, Bangalore, a hospice that provides free palliative care to terminally ill cancer patients. After a hiatus of 3 years, owing to circumstances beyond our control, we are proud and happy that we could carry forward the legacy of bringing joy through colours. stArt 2024 was well-represented by about 180 young artists from seven schools in Bangalore and was conducted across 3 categories. The budding artists created their masterpieces using a variety of mediums from colour pencils, and oil pastels to acrylic paints. The topics given to them were: The cover page of your favourite storybook for Grades 3 & 4, Achievements of India in 2023 (Grades 5 & 6) and The World of AI (Grades 7 & 8). A panel of artists judged the artwork and the results have been shared with the participating schools. The money raised through registration fees for the art competition and profits from the Bake Sale have been donated to Karunashraya.
