Kannada Rajyotsava 2024-2025
Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in NPS Koramangala to commemorate the formation of the independent state of Karnataka. To help children use the language, a learning centre session was conducted where students of Grade 5 had various activities that fostered effective learning of the language.
These interactive sessions included learning about the history of Kannada literature and learning and naming everyday items such as groceries, fruits and vegetables in Kannada. Some stations helped students understand the common errors that are made in pronunciation. Many charts and learning materials were also on display to facilitate learning. The learning stations were open to everyone in the school.
As a result, there was active student engagement that resulted in them taking an interest to learn the language in a fun and interactive way, through their peers.
A special assembly was also conducted by the Kannada language department. This assembly showcased Kannada skits, songs and dance performances that portrayed Kannada folk dances. In addition, Kannada handwriting competition was also held for the students.
The celebrations were a testimony to the greatness of one of the oldest Indian languages and how such events can reach out to a large number of students in a way that captures their interest.
