Heritage Day 2026

Heritage Day – Namma Bengaluru was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 02 February 2026 in the school auditorium for students of Grades 1 to 5. The programme was organised to create awareness about Bengaluru’s rich cultural and historical heritage and to instill in young learners a sense of responsibility towards preserving it for future generations.

The highlight of the event was an engaging and insightful talk by Mr. Shahidhara H.G., who vividly traced the history of the city and its neighbourhood, Koramangala. He spoke about the founding of Bengaluru by Kempe Gowda I and the enduring watchtowers that continue to stand as silent reminders of the city’s origins. The session also introduced students to ancient dynasties, historic temples, inscriptions, and significant archaeological sites that form an integral part of the region’s legacy.

The presentation highlighted Bengaluru’s remarkable transformation from the renowned “Garden City” to a vibrant modern IT hub, emphasising the harmonious blend of tradition and progress. Students were encouraged to take pride in Namma Bengaluru and to contribute actively towards preserving its heritage and environment.

Informative presentations and thoughtfully designed worksheets further enriched the learning experience, making the celebration meaningful, educational, and memorable for all.
