Independence Day 2026

9A’s class assembly was held on August 15th, 2026, to commemorate 80 years of India’s independence. The assembly was the culmination of several months of hard work, perseverance and dedication by both teachers and students.

Teachers, parents, grandparents and students came together to witness the programme. From the teachers’ address and the energetic dance performance to the Nukkad Natak and the presentation on unsung heroes, every segment reflected the effort and enthusiasm that went into making the assembly a memorable success.

The assembly began with a powerful thought- “Ask not what your country can do for you- ask what you can do for your country,” which left the audience with some food for thought. This was followed by a graceful and energetic dance which was a beautiful amalgamation of classical styles and Punjab folk dance. The presentation that highlighted the unsung heroes of our nation gave a powerful message that ordinary people can make extraordinary contributions to society. The quiz tested the audience’s knowledge on some unsung heroes who fought for our independence. This was followed by a short Nukkad Natak which highlighted India’s societal issues and how they can be addressed. A melodious rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ marked the end of this memorable assembly.

More than just a celebration, the assembly was a valuable learning experience for all of us. Working together taught us the importance of teamwork, cooperation and responsibility, while performing on stage helped us develop confidence and speaking skills. Most importantly, the experience taught us that a successful programme is not the work of one person, but the result of many people contributing together towards a common goal.
