International Yoga and World Music Day
Marking a beautiful blend of mindfulness and melody, International Yoga Day and World Music Day were observed with great enthusiasm and artistic fervour at NPS Koramangala on 24th June 2026. The programme beautifully highlighted the harmony between yoga and music, two timeless practices that nurture physical well-being, emotional balance, and inner peace.
The event commenced with the chanting of a sacred shloka accompanied by a graceful presentation of Chandra Namaskar, setting a serene and reflective tone for the celebration. Students then captivated the audience with a vibrant selection of Indian musical performances, including Phirse, Aadiyilalo Anthamilalo, and the spirited Boat Song. A moving instrumental rendition of The Best of Times by Grade 11 students further showcased the depth of musical talent within the school.
A video presentation on Maharishi Patanjali offered insights into the life and teachings of the revered sage, followed by an impressive yoga demonstration by students of Grades 6 and 7, who displayed remarkable flexibility, coordination, and discipline.
The celebration was enriched by soulful performances from the faculty members Ms. Roopa Keshava Raman and Ms Pooja Majumdar while students enthralled the audience with Western classics such as Clocks and Bohemian Rhapsody. A special highlight was the award-winning teachers' band performance that had earlier secured first place at the Battle of the Bands competition hosted by the TISB Training Academy (TTA).
The programme concluded with a guided meditation session, leaving everyone with a profound sense of calm, gratitude, and well-being.
