Grade 10 A – Environment Day assembly
On June 5, 2026, Class 10A presented a thought-provoking morning assembly to mark the occasion of World Environment Day. The programme commenced with an insightful speech by Ms Usha Unnikrishnan on Kanso—the Japanese philosophy of simplicity and mindful living. This concept invited students to reflect on how conscious restraint can foster a highly sustainable lifestyle.
The assembly unfolded with a compelling dystopian skit depicting a future where severe air pollution endangered human survival. Personified pollutants revealed the dire consequences of unchecked human activity, while current news headlines effectively connected the fictional narrative to contemporary environmental concerns.
Following the drama, an impassioned speech reminded the audience that time remains to alter our trajectory through mindful choices. An interactive quiz on environmental awareness further reinforced these themes of redemption. Carried forward by a graceful classical dance and an inspiring song, the event culminated in a collective pledge to actively protect and preserve the environment.
